Police at Victoria Crescent earlier this week
EXTRA police are to be deployed at the scene of the Victoria Crescent killings on Sunday – a week after six people were stabbed to death in Jersey’s worst ever murder.
It is hoped that the extra police presence will jog people’s memories about the events and encourage more witnesses to come forward.
The move comes as the States police, who are being supported by the honorary police, continue to work closely with the community to try to establish what happened.
Post mortem examinations have now been carried out on two of the murdered children, with the cause of death being confirmed as stab wounds. A post mortem on the third child and the last adult, a woman, were expected to be completed today or tomorrow, after which the victims will be formally identified. Meanwhile, two States police officers have been supporting the family of the murder suspect, Damian Rzeszowski, both in Jersey and via the telephone in Poland.
