THE Red Arrows’ performance at this year’s Jersey International Air Display is in jeopardy following the weekend’s fatal crash.
The team – one of the star attractions of the annual show in St Aubin’s Bay – has been grounded after Flight Lieutenant Jon Eggings died when he crashed into a field shortly after performing at the Bournemouth Air Festival.
If the performance is cancelled, it will be the first time that the world famous aerobatic team has not performed at the display since the Red Arrows were formed in 1965.
Flt Lt Eggings, known as Eggman, died on Saturday when his Hawk T1 aircraft dropped out of the sky and crashed into a field in the village of Throop, near Bournemouth Airport.
