MIXED weather couldn’t hold back the crowds at Jersey’s biggest free annual music festival on Sunday.

Hundreds of Islanders flocked to Howard Davis Park for a day out in the fresh air with live music from local bands and an air guitar competition thrown in. It was the ninth year that the Rock in the Park event has taken place.

This year’s line-up featured Electric Brick, Demise of Sanity, Soulless Kings, Backbeat, Blackgrass and Eclipse.

Although admission to the event was free, collections were taken at the entrances for the Jersey Kidney Patients Association.

A three-minute silence was held at the event out of respect for the six victims of last Sunday’s Victoria Crescent murders.
