Jersey Ladies’ Katie Lanyon feeds the ball across the line

Walkers Jersey Team retained the Touch Inter-insular Trophy at Le Boulivot on Saturday after defeating Guernsey by two games to one.

The Sarnians got off to the best possible start, despite falling behind early on, as they defeated Jersey’s ladies 3-2 in the opening match.

Jersey went ahead within the first five minutes before Guernsey came back and pushed on to grab a 3-1 lead. Jersey replied straight away but it was to be merely a consolation.

This meant that, with Guernsey leading 1-0 on games, then the Island men had to win to keep Walkers Jersey in with a chance of the overall inter-insular prize.
