Forensic surveyor Duncan Lees working at Victoria Crerscent

A TEAM of forensic surveyors from the UK has spent the last few days scanning in Victoria Crescent with state-of-the art lasers to build up a 3D picture of the murder scene.

The information they collect will be used in a variety of ways throughout the police investigation, including creating precise layout drawings of the crime scene and computer generated animations, and could be vital evidence at any future trial.

The technology was used in 2006 during the investigation of the Ipswich prostitute murders, which was led by detective superintendent Stewart Gull – who moved to Jersey in July and is now leading the Victoria Crescent investigation.
