Brownrigg returns to the Reds
Wednesday 31st August 2011, 3:00PM BST.
SECOND-ROW forward Jim Brownrigg has signed for Jersey Rugby Club.
The 34-year-old, whose last game for the club was when he led them to the National III Championship with a victory over Ampthill at Twickenham, has returned to the Island and put pen to paper for Jersey’s National I campaign.
Brownrigg, a line-out expert, left the club before their National II South campaign to go to London to continue his career as an osteopath.
He rejoined a former club, Barnes and helped them win promotion to National II South last season. He also has had first class experience with major clubs such as Bristol and Cardiff.

Win a share of £10,000
2012 is the year of the London Olympics and to celebrate this great event the Jersey Evening Post, in association with sponsors Ogier is giving all sporting clubs a chance to win a share of £10,000.

Why not rename your paper the Jersey Rugby Club Evening Post? That’s all you seem to care about.

Bob, what else would you have them report about? Name another island team which has promoted the island as much as the rugby team has in the past 4 years? A team which has recorded back to back promotions and appeared at the national stadium for their sport, or, a team which regularly attracts 1500 other islanders to watch them. Seems logical to me that an island newspaper would report on the success of an island team

I think thats a great idea Bob its normally the best news that this island has to offer.
Come on Jersey!!

There are other extremely successful sports on this island, which now seem to be squeezed into a corner in the Sports Section to make way for a Professional rugby team based in Jersey. They are successful due to the money they have – well done! I’m sorry to say that the Guernsey Press’ sports section is far superior in terms of active reporting and diversity, albeit its anti-Jersey bias can sometimes be a bit over-the-top.

Bob, please list these sports as i would be very interested to see what you class as “extremely successful”.
