Economic plan ‘lacks measurable targets’

THE new Economic Development strategy lacks substance and ‘measurables’, according to the Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

And the body’s president, David Warr, said that it has taken too long to come up with a plan to take the Island’s economy forward.

The strategy was officially put out to consultation last week by Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean with the message that Jersey was ‘open for business’.

But while Mr Warr and the Chamber of Commerce welcomed the fact that a document had been prepared, he said it lacked what he described as ‘measurables’.

    The Economic plan ‘lacks measurable targets’ because the Economic plan lacks achievable targets.

    You cannot measure political spin! Or if RT wishes to be pedantic; if you try to measure ‘political spin’ you will get dizzy.

    At least I agree with Mr Warr on this one. It is worth taking the time to read the wishy-washy mainly finance industry drivel. That is precisely the same format that other ‘strategies’ have had , presumably a job lot or a cheap frontsman.

    Especially interesting is the Page 6 Fiscal Stability, growth and genuine diversification

    They can’t even be bothered to discuss ‘genuine diversification’ under that or any other heading.

    Something else to sell to the ‘sheeple’ as a good idea from us ,so now go away…
