JERSEY’S most senior public health official has been appointed.
Dr Susan Turnbull has been acting Medical Officer of Health since September 2010, when previous MOH Dr Rosemary Geller fell ill.
Dr Turnbull’s appointment to the post on a permanent basis was announced by Health Minister Anne Pryke this morning.
The MOH is the Island’s most senior public health official and publishes an annual report on the state of the Island’s health.
That report compiles statistics on smoking, obesity and causes of death, and identifies major health risks to the population.
