JERSEY suffered an agonising and nail-biting one-wicket defeat by Kuwait in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

A last-wicket partnership of 17 runs got Kuwait home with three balls to spare leaving Jersey point-less from two matches and now with a battle on their hands as they look to remain in Division VI in the World Cricket League with games against Nigeria, Malaysia and Fiji to come.

In a match reduced to 34 overs a side, Kuwait won the toss and putting Jersey in it looked a good decision as Jersey were two wickets down for 24 runs before losing a third with 15 overs gone and just 46 runs scored.
