Boy (16) had knife in street a week after stabbings

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy on Valium who went into St Helier with a kitchen knife a week after the Victoria Crescent murders narrowly avoided going to jail yesterday.
The teenager, who was sentenced to 12 months’ probation by the Youth Court, told his mother he was going to ‘cut up’ people that had been threatening his family.
His mother was so concerned that she called the police, who closed Dorset Street on 21 August because of the threat.
