    Sir

One expects the island’s authorities will take as dim a view of Mr Moore’s activities as one does.

As islanders know from their own bitter experience, the attention-seeking antics such ‘whistleblowers’ can cause enormous damage, both to the smooth running of business and to international prestige.

Fortunately our authorities have demonstrated a commendable resolve in dealing with similar trouble makers in the past and one has little doubt they will deal with Mr Moore in an appropriate manner.

For it is incumbent upon Jersey, as a responsible financial centre, to send out a strong message that such behaviour is not tolerated on this island.

As someone who has attempted to interfere with the working of the finance he will doubtless be regarded on a par with the most dangerous criminals such as international terrorists.

A SWAT team should be on hand at his arrest and he should be held incommunicado pending release to the appropriate authorities where he can be made to face the full force of the law.
