Morrison guides Jersey to victory

Jersey are now lying third on the table and have an outside chance of promotion

BACK-TO-BACK victories in Malaysia have left Jersey with a mathematical chance of gaining promotion to Division 5 in the World Cricket League.

Jersey defeated Nigeria yesterday by three wickets to move into third place in the Division VI table, with bottom-placed Fiji to play today.

Divisional leaders Malaysia and Guernsey are in opposition today and a Sarnian victory and a Jersey win with a good run-rate could catapault Jersey into second place.

‘It is a possibility,’ said Jersey Cricket Board director of cricket Chris Minty. ‘Obviously we want to win our final league game so that we remain in the division and if there is a chance of promotion then we will go for that if we can.’
