Rosslyn Park pose difficult challenge

Friday 23rd September 2011, 2:59PM BST.

Scrum-half Nick Griffths will be out for up to nine weeks due to injury

JERSEY RFC play away to Rosslyn Park tomorrow, a game which sees ninth team in National I, Jersey, against tenth although as both teams have two wins and ten points apiece, on paper at least there is very little in it.

In last week’s game, against Ealing, Jersey contrived to throw the ball three times to the opposition who, in turn, scored from each careless pass. Rosslyn Park, on the other hand, lost away to Cambridge, 36-32, by conceding a last minute try when, with 80 minutes up, they thought the game was over.

It wasn’t – and Cambridge stormed back to victory with a pick and go try from the last line-out of the match. Afterwards Rosslyn Park’s director of rugby Shaun Justice was furious at the way his players had tried to run down the clock; but then at no stage this season has he been able to field his preferred starting XV.
