THE parishes of Grouville and St Saviour have been honoured with top awards in this year’s national Britain in Bloom finals.

The two parishes, which were nominated for separate categories, beat off 76 other finalists from across the British Isles to be rewarded with Silver Gilt awards.

Over 470 people gathered at the Royal Horticultural Society awards ceremony in Scotland last night, where it was announced that Grouville had dazzled in the best coastal town category and St Saviour in the town category.

A team of three Grouville volunteers represented Jersey at the event and were proud to collect their award and St Saviour’s award on the parish’s behalf.
