TOGETHER in the same white coffin, the bodies of a mother and daughter who were killed in a multiple stabbing attack in St Helier last month were laid to rest at the weekend.
Before Marta and Julia de la Haye were driven to their native Poland, where they will be buried, mourners paid their last respects and tributes at a touching funeral service at St Thomas’ Church on Saturday morning.
A moving letter sent from Marta’s mother in Poland and read out at the service by Monsignor Nicholas France, described the pair as ‘full of love, compassion and humour’.
