Snooker hit hard as players chase pool prizes

JERSEY’S leading snooker players have turned their backs on the game this winter in preference of pool and its prize money.

The Jersey Billiards and Snooker Association has just one snooker division this season, an amalgamation of last season’s divisions two and three, as a result of fewer teams entering.

JB&SA president Richard de la Haye said: ‘It’s a very sad time for snooker and disappointing that the top players are showing more interest to play pool because there is prize money available there.’
