Coarse golden sand, excellent facilities, including several cafes and pubs, and a large number of parking places make Greve de Lecq an excellent beach for all the family.
Bathing is safe - except when there is a big swell - and young children appreciate the stream which flows over the sands at the eastern end of the bay.
The old pier opposite is a good vantage point for fishermen. The only feature that may be a problem is the herring gull population, which know no fear and will steal your sandwiches if you aren’t careful. If you make friends with a knowledgeable Islander, get him to show you the cave thatleads to the “secret beach”.
Served by bus route 9.
