With more than 50 miles of coastline ranging from wide sandy bays to rocky points swept by strong tidal flows, Jersey is an excellent place for all forms of sea angling.
Bass fishing using sandeels or artificial lures such as plugs is very popular, but night fishing for conger and offshore trips to the many wrecks and banks found in Channel Island waters are also popular.
The chief offshore species are pollack, ling, turbot, brill, tope and record-breaking porbeagle sharks.
Freshwater tackle can be used to fish for grey mullet in harbours and coves or target carp, tench, trout, bream, rudd and roach in a number of inland waters.
