A popular Island pastime, whether picnicking in the park, or playing professionally.
Soccer is a thriving sport in Jersey and the highlight of the domestic season is the annual battle for the Muratti Vase between Jersey and Guernsey.
While the main fixtures are played at Springfield in St Helier, on a Saturday during the season, games can be found all over the Island. Full coverage of games can be found in the Jersey Evening Post.
Jersey also has its own claim to fame in the soccer world. Jerseyman Graeme Le Saux won a Premier League championship medal with Blackburn Rovers - owned by wealthy Jersey resident and Rovers fanatic the late Jack Walker - and won 36 caps for England before retiring in 2005.
