THE chief executive and Harbourmaster of Jersey Harbours, Captain Howard Le Cornu, it to step down from the position in March.

Mr Le Cornu is to leave the £100,000-a-year post as the States continue to merge the management of the Harbour and Jersey Airport.

Doug Bannister, who became the group chief executive officer earlier this year, will take over the legal responsibilities of the Harbourmaster and Airport director when he is sworn in by the Royal Court next month.

Two others will also be sworn in to join a team who have powers to take over the specific duties of Harbourmaster and Airport duty executive when required.

    To ‘Flymo’.
I don’t think you quite understand. The “two others” referred to in the article are existing members of staff not additional members of staff as you have assumed. In fact, two members of staff are about to leave (Airport Director and Harbourmaster)and are being replaced by one – Mr Bannister.
