Rescued seal is flown to UK

The rescued grey seal pup
THE grey seal pup rescued from rocks off Corbière this week was flown to Bristol early today and transported to an RSPCA rehabilitation centre.
The pup, which has been named Barnacle, was monitored by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue for five hours, as it appeared to be stranded on the rocks, to see if its mother would appear and lead it to safety.
As the tide came in without any sign of the mother, the pup was in danger of drowning, as it is believed to be only a few days old and too young to be able to swim, and the decision was made to rescue it.
