Former Health Minister Stuart Syvret has been jailed for eight weeks for contempt of court.

He appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon after failing to carry out a community service order imposed originally for the offence.

At one point today, the former Senator  tried to leave the court and was arrested so that the hearing could continue.
