AN 11-year-old girl was assaulted by a man on her way home from school yesterday afternoon, it has been claimed.

This morning an area close to Grainville School remained sealed off while investigations were carried out following claims that the schoolgirl was grabbed by a man in his 20s just after 4 pm.

Police, who this morning could be seen guarding the area while a scenes of crime officer inspected it, are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
