CONVICTED drugs baron Curtis Warren could be restricted to owning one mobile phone and not carrying more than £1,000 when he is eventually released from prison.

Warren, whose foiled plot to flood Jersey with cannabis saw him imprisoned, this week discovered an application for him to face further sanctions upon his release has been made.

The 48-year-old is facing the restrictions following a move by the UK’s Serious Crime Prevention Order, which has made an application via the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service.

However, it is expected that Warren’s legal team will challenge the order on the grounds that it will impinge on Warren’s basic human rights.

For his foiled Jersey drugs plot, Warren is serving a 13-year sentence at Full Sutton Prison – a maximum security facility that holds some of Britain’s most violent and dangerous criminals.
