A NEW apprenticeship scheme in the hospitality industry could soon provide training for the Island’s next chefs, fishmongers, butchers and retailers.

Job seekers will have the opportunity to train in all areas of hospitality if a new two-year apprenticeship scheme, run by Highlands College and Sandpiper CI, is launched in the coming months.

The new scheme will provide training for up to 15 people who will then be able to move into an area of the Sandpiper CI business, including franchises such as Costa Coffee, Pasty Presto, Hotel Chocolat, and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

There will also be an option to work in the manufacturing and wholesale arm of the business, Cimandis.
