Monday 28th November 2011, 2:58PM GMT.
At this time last year, La Hougue Bie was covered in snow
This time last year Islanders were either shovelling snow from their driveways or setting off for work on foot as Arctic conditions blasted the Channel Islands.
People awoke to a blanket of snow that covered much of the Island on 28 November, which was to be the first of many snowfalls last winter.
The minimum temperature on this day last year reached a freezing -2.1°C, but today the Met Office does not expect the thermostat to fall below double digits following recent highs of 14°C.
This year, we have been enjoying warm air temperatures, sometimes double those we experienced last November.

We are still seeing the effects of the last El Nino and La Nina event. It is part of a natural meteorological cycle that happens roughly every 3-7 years and affects weather worldwide for a year or more.
La Niña is expected to continue through the Northern Hemisphere winter 2011-12.
A majority of the forecast models, now predict La Niña to continue through the Northern Hemisphere winter and then gradually weaken after peaking during the November – January period.

@FUBAR
Stop giving the game away. There is a while industry out there making a lot of money on the back of Global Warming.
Fortunately, the scientists at CERN who recently proved that global Warming is not man made have been told to keep quiet. We are just very lucky that the main stream media are in on this and didn’t report this as the game would be up.
