Roy Deeming (right) and Dave Roberts are concerned about the build up of mud in the harbour
AN ANGRY boat owner is planning to block St Aubin’s Harbour on New Year’s Day to protest over the state of the sea bed in the port.
Roy Deeming claims that the harbour is dangerous and no longer fit for purpose after officials allowed large areas of mud to build up around the moorings.
He says that the mud has built up as the Harbours department has failed to dredge the area.
Mr Deeming is now planning to use his boat, Desirée, to block the entrance and to hold a peaceful protest with a number of other Islanders in the harbour between 1.30 pm and 4.30 pm on 1 January.

For most of the time the absence of water will be preventing anything getting in or out of that harbour. With the Solar System on his side how could he fail?

The guy from harbours PLN who is in charge of getting the dregging done (that was supposed to be done 3 years ago) said… If its not done by the end of this year we can throw him in the harbour. Just thought i would remind him. He has one day left.

well if it does not happen , the the person who said “you can throw me in the harbour” should do it for a hospice charity event. i am sure many would pay to see the civil servant get a ducking .
