AN ANGRY boat owner is planning to block St Aubin’s Harbour on New Year’s Day to protest over the state of the sea bed in the port.

Roy Deeming claims that the harbour is dangerous and no longer fit for purpose after officials allowed large areas of mud to build up around the moorings.

He says that the mud has built up as the Harbours department has failed to dredge the area.

Mr Deeming is now planning to use his boat, Desirée, to block the entrance and to hold a peaceful protest with a number of other Islanders in the harbour between 1.30 pm and 4.30 pm on 1 January.
