TRIBUTES have been paid to the Jersey motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in St Catherine on Thursday.

The 20-year-old – named yesterday as Christopher James Le Rossignol – died when his blue Honda bike crashed near St Catherine’s Sailing Club. He was just weeks away from celebrating his 21st birthday.

A 20-year-old woman, who was riding pillion, was also injured and was treated in hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

By early yesterday afternoon tributes were pouring in for Mr Rossignol, a former Grainville School student who worked at the Pet Cabin stores and the Driftwood café at Archirondel.

A Grainville School spokeswoman described Mr Le Rossignol as ‘a quiet and sensitive student’, adding: ‘Christopher is remembered fondly by both past and present staff and the pupils in his year group. The staff remember him as a hard-working student with a quiet, sensitive and considerate nature. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.’
