Youth unemployment top of leaders’ agenda

GETTING young people back to work was the main topic at last week’s British Irish Council meeting in Dublin.

Attending his first summit, Chief Minister Ian Gorst met senior politicians from around Britain including Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond on Friday.

Leaders from around Britain spoke about youth unemployment and the misuse of drugs at the event.

‘It was very good, we were made to feel very welcome indeed,’ said Senator Gorst.
