RARE iguanas have been born at Durrell Wildlife Park for the first time in 11 years.
Two baby Lesser Antillean iguanas hatched at the end of 2011, following years of unsuccessful breeding attempts.
Durrell is the only place in the world where this endangered species – which is native to the Caribbean – has been bred in captivity.
The brightly coloured green iguanas have been a welcome addition to the wildlife park, with staff and volunteers banding together to gather the remaining rose and hibiscus flowers on the island before winter.
