HISTORICAL abuse victims could receive payments as early as next month and will not be ‘gagged’ by non-disclosure agreements, Chief Minister Ian Gorst told the States yesterday.

He said that there could be non-disclosure agreements over the amounts of compensation paid – expected to reach tens of thousands of pounds – although the total amount paid to victims would be published.

Senator Gorst’s comments come months after proceedings were launched in the High Court in London in respect of 38 victims of alleged abuse at Haut de la Garenne.
