JERSEY is making final preparations for the historic visit of the Olympic Flame to the Island tomorrow.
Organisers hope that thousands of Islanders will line the torch relay route to cheer on local torchbearers.
During its 70-day journey around the British Isles, the flame will pass through 1,000 cities, towns and villages.
Tomorrow, on day 58 of its journey, it will be transported from Southampton on a special gold British Airways plane to visit Guernsey before arriving in Jersey shortly after 11.30 am.
Dan Schofield, Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relay advance manager, encouraged Islanders to ‘come together for a very special day’.
The relay begins at Bel Royal at 12noon and continues via the Radisson Hotel to the Weighbridge where a special cauldron will be lit. The torch relay will then continue back to Victoria Avenue, finishing opposite the Lower Park.
The Weighbridge will be the site of celebrations from 11 am to 3 pm, with sporting challenges, food stalls, face painting and balloon artists adding to a festive atmosphere.
Twelve torches – each engraved with the crest of an Island parish – will be carried in relays from the Weighbridge to their respective parishes after the lighting of the cauldron with the official flame. Many of the parishes have organised special events to celebrate the relay and the Olympics.

I personally would be honoured if Mr.Syvert would carry our Olympic Torch for us

The headline rather twisted the truth in that he was proposed and then put forward by a UK selection committee.
Is it happening or did someone with rather large boots stamp on the idea ?

Is this feeding time at the troll-zoo ?
Posters may first wish to read the comments made by people (who have read the actual evidence) at:

And perhaps avoid making fools of themselves.
Or worse, find themselves Touching Evil, and being co-opted by it so that it is still stuck to them on their judgement day !

Hear hear So Proud. I nominated Stuart as he is a hero in my eyes. I’ve just read on his blog that ‘the oligarchy’ have managed to stop him carrying the torch. Disgusting behaviour don’t you think?

Why have we donated anything to the Olympic purse??

l cannot understand what is happenning. 85% of the world is in poverty, our men and women are dying in wars designed by the great and the good serving the great and the good and we spend energy looking at what, a torch! sorry don’t get it.
