A WOMAN had to be cut from her car by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment after a crash on Route du Fort on Saturday.

The two-car crash happened at the junction with Cleveland Road shortly after 7 pm and led to the road being closed for more than two hours.

A 50-year-old woman who had been driving the red Peugeot 106 was trapped inside her car and, after concerns that she may have suffered spinal injuries, firefighters were called in to cut her out.
