MAGISTRATE-designate Ian Christmas is to spend the next two months in prison after his bail application was denied yesterday.

The judge, who has not sat on the bench since a police investigation into his business activities began in 2008, was jailed on 5 October for fraudulently inducing an elderly widow to invest £100,000 in a US property scheme.

Christmas was found guilty of one count of fraudulent inducement following an 11-week trial during the summer.
