Wednesday 28th November 2012, 2:50PM GMT.
A POLICE investigation is under way after a laser was shone at a passenger plane seconds before it landed at Jersey Airport.
The British Airways aircraft was on its final approach on Monday evening when a green laser beam, which can cause temporary eye damage, was fired from the St Clement area.
The flight crew reported the incident to Air Traffic Control after the plane landed safely.
The States police today warned that anyone caught using the devices inappropriately could face prosecution.

“Fired” the laser? Don’t you mean “shone”?

Yes, it does make it sounds like there was a platoon of storm troopers marching around St Clement. Did they detect any life forms aboard, or did the crew abandon ship not long after take-off?

Isn’t it tasers that get fired?

Laser pen fired from St Clements manages to get cockpit of plan landing in St Peter’s! That is some distance and only a small target, quite impressive if it wasn’t illegal and dangerous.
