Police probe as laser is directed at plane

A POLICE investigation is under way after a laser was shone at a passenger plane seconds before it landed at Jersey Airport.

The British Airways aircraft was on its final approach on Monday evening when a green laser beam, which can cause temporary eye damage, was fired from the St Clement area.

The flight crew reported the incident to Air Traffic Control after the plane landed safely.

The States police today warned that anyone caught using the devices inappropriately could face prosecution.
