Hidden agent traps smugglers

TWO men who used a boat to smuggle drugs from France were caught on their return to Jersey in the middle of the night by a customs officer hiding under an upturned dinghy, the Royal Court heard yesterday.

The two, aged 43 and 40, were found with cannabis and Subutex with a street value in excess of £30,000 on 28 July this year at St Catherine.

In the Royal Court yesterday (FRI)The 4-yearold was sentenced to 21 months’ jail, and his accomplice was ordered to complete 200 hours of community service and 18 months’ probation.
