THREE senior Jersey police officers who illegally bugged a car to catch drugs baron Curtis Warren in 2007 attended a secret disciplinary hearing last week.

It is understood that the three officers – who were described as being ‘unquestionably guilty of grave prosecutorial misconduct’ by Britain’s highest court in 2011 – were at a hearing at the Pomme d’Or Hotel for bringing the force into disrepute.

More than five years after the bugging operation that led to the arrests and convictions of Liverpool drugs baron Curtis Warren and five co-accused men over a plot to smuggle £1 million worth of cannabis into Jersey, the JEP understands that a police chief from the UK oversaw disciplinary hearings in respect of Detective Chief Inspector David Minty, Inspector Louis Beghin and Detective Sergeant Lawrence Courtness.
