FORMER Grouville honorary policeman Ralph Mauger has been found guilty of five counts of indecent assault on girls aged under 14.

The jury took four hours to reach verdicts against the 77-year-old after a week-long trial in the Royal Court. Mauger was accused of seven counts of indecent assault on three girls, who were all under the age of 14 when the offences occurred, and one count of inciting an act of gross indecency with him between 1998 and 2006. He denied all charges and was cleared of three.

Mr Mauger was remanded in custody. He will return to court on 16 January for sentencing by the Superior Number.
