A WOMAN with strong links to Jersey who was seriously injured in a snowboarding accident in the French Alps has died.

Emily Watts (26), who was known as Mimi, passed away yesterday lunchtime, five days after crashing while snowboarding with friends in Chamonix on Saturday.

She was the granddaughter of former St Helier Constable and Jurat Peter Baker and the niece of serving St Helier Deputy James Baker, and her mother, Nicky McAllister, was born and brought up in the Island.

Miss Watts’ grandmother, Ann Baker, also lives in Jersey and she had many cousins in the Island.
