A FATHER of six who was caught with a stash of cannabis plants and magic mushrooms in his flat was sentenced to 140 hours’ community service in the Royal Court on Friday.

The 39-year-old admitted producing cannabis between 11 January and 29 March, possessing the drug, possessing magic mushrooms and possessing drug utensils.

The court heard that police raided his St Helier flat on 29 March and found four mature cannabis plants, as well as plant cuttings, seedlings, dried leaves of the Class B drug and a bag containing 56 cannabis seeds.

They also discovered nearly 20 grams of the Class A drug Psilocybin, known as magic mushrooms, and items commonly associated with the growing of cannabis including lamps, extraction fans, growing tents, heaters and thermometers.
