FAMILY and friends of a ‘popular bright lad who lived life to the full’ have been left shattered by the news of his sudden death in Thailand yesterday.

Matthew Docherty is believed to have drowned in a hotel swimming pool in Phuket.

The 31-year-old carpenter, a former pupil of FCJ and Le Rocquier schools, moved to live in Australia about ten years ago and had gone on holiday to Thailand over the Christmas and New Year period.
