THREE police officers cleared of misconduct over the operation to arrest drugs baron Curtis Warren say that they feel ‘deeply betrayed’ by Attorney General Tim Le Cocq’s decision to lay a complaint against them.

In a statement released this morning, the three officers – Chief Inspector David Minty, Inspector Louis Beghin and Detective Sergeant Lawrence Courtness – say that their treatment over the last 18 months has had a serious effect on their health, their careers and their families.

The statement by their lawyer, Advocate Philip Sinel, follows the announcement last week that a secret hearing had cleared the three officers of misconduct. They had faced disciplinary charges over the bugging of a car when it was being driven across France, Belgium and Holland by one of Warren’s gang in 2007.
