THE family of a young Islander who received a lifesaving bone marrow transplant a year ago this week have thanked Islanders for their support and donations during the past 12 months.

Islanders raised a total of £51,000 to help support the family during Joe’s journey and airline Blue Islands gave them free flights for the duration of his treatment.

Joe is a very lucky boy, Holly is a very brave young lady and Blue Islands is a good example of solidarity from an Airline company…I’ve never travelled with Blue Islands, but I’m certainly going to give them a try now.
