The police saw a 22% drop in burglaries last year

REPORTED crime in Jersey dropped by four per cent last year, according to figures released today.

A total of 3,816 crimes were recorded last year – 168 fewer than in 2011.

One of the force’s biggest successes was in tackling burglaries, which dropped by 22 per cent following the launch of Operation Hornet – an initiative to crackdown on break-ins and educate Islanders on securing their homes.
