JT is forced to freeze prices until end of 2013

ISLANDERS will avoid an increase in home and business telephone charges until at least the end of this year after the regulator forced Jersey Telecom to freeze its prices.

JT is the Island’s only fixed-line phone provider, but efforts are being made to open up the market to industry competitors which could give consumers more choice and may eventually even drive down prices.

The Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities said that restricting JT’s price until 31 December 2013 would allow rival telephone companies enough time to begin offering their services.

The only reason they want to put their prices up is because they have managed to p**s off so many customers during the last year with their arrogant attitude.
After being a customer for nearly forty years i am one of eight people i know who have moved their accounts this year, frankly wish i had done so years ago !!!

    Please enlighten us.

As far as I am aware they are, Newtel have copper in the ground for Cable TV only, and Airtel and Y-Tel (Newtel) provide 01534 numbers via mobile / wireless networks.
