Dawn Murphy’s life has been transformed
A JERSEY woman whose life has been transformed by revolutionary brain surgery today tells her remarkable story in the hope that others can benefit from the ground-breaking procedure.
Twice in the past two years pioneering surgeons in London have drilled through Dawn Murphy’s skull to place electrodes deep into her brain. More astonishing still, she was fully conscious throughout both five-hour operations.
Mrs Murphy, who has been married to Grouville Constable Dan Murphy for 40 years, was diagnosed with a neurological condition called dystonia around 20 years ago.
The operations have transformed her life. Read her story in today’s Jersey Evening Post.
