Fraudster stole £45,000 from nursery

THE treasurer of a charity for nursery children stole almost £50,000 from it to fund his lifestyle – paying for the travel expenses of his mistress and illegitimate child and buying a Porsche, the Royal Court heard on Friday.
Despite earning a salary of £66,000 in his finance job, the employee – who was jailed for three years on Friday – defrauded the Silver Star Community Playgroup Association of about £46,000 over 2½ years – almost causing it to close.
