Voting would be made a lot easier if family and supporters of the candidates were not allowed to congregate outside the voting stations. Not only do they take up many of the sparse parking spaces, they form an intimidating mass. Their presence has occasionally persuaded me NOT to vote for a candidate at the last minute but never to vote in someone’s favour.

1 and 5 What a paranoid bunch! It’s called canvassing and is a traditional part of electioneering and the democratic process across the globe.

Engage in eye contact, offer warm wishes of success to all candidates who take the trouble to talk to you and go into the booth and vote according your preference. It’s really not that difficult…. to think that you might change your vote at the last minute out of pique suggests to me a somewhat superficial approach to proceedings!
