
THOUSANDS of Islanders and tourists came out to party last night at the 18th Battle of Flowers Moonlight Parade.
WHILE there are numerous Islanders who help to make the Battle of Flowers the success that it is, it is safe to say that without the float builders there would be no parade.
CARNIVAL spirit takes over the Island today for the 106th year as the Battle of Flowers gets under way on Victoria Avenue – and fingers are crossed that the weather stays dry.
DESPITE the arrival of 100,000 rotten flowers last week and a number of funding threats over the past year, most of the float building teams for today’s Battle of Flowers were well ahead of schedule last night.

AS if Battle of Flowers week is not stressful enough, float builders around the Island were rocked by the news this week that 100,000 dyed chrysanthemums from Holland were rotten.
