AN indoor cycling centre and a bmx track could be built in the Island if Jersey Cycling can attract financial support for the facilities.

The association has just announced its new president as Martin Hebden along with big plans which also include employing a development officer, performance director or highly qualified coach.

The news comes as Jersey Cycling, as it is now known rather than the JCA, aims to establish itself as an effective governing body for the sport in the Island.

Although the dream of building an indoor velodrome is a long term ambition, the bmx facility could happen sooner rather than later with locations already being explored.
